Fishing Holidays
Loch and sea fishing are just on the doorstep when you stay on Bute.
Loch Fad lies directly along the Highland fault line and is classified by Scottish Natural Heritage as a site of scientific interest for its beauty and it huge diversity of bird life and vegetation. Trout fishing either from boat or bank is available from 1st March to 22nd December and Pike Fishing is allowed all year.
Loch Quien is a low lying fertile loch which can produce some lovely fish but can be a real challenge. There are five boats on the loch without outboards and at approx ninety acres there are good areas of shallow water for wading too. The Loch is stocked on a regular basis with a mixture of fish sizes to support the natural fish.
Anglers are well served at the Ardyne with fridges and freezers made available to hold your catch while you continue to enjoy your stay. We can also have fish smoked for you at reasonable costs at the famous local smokehouse. Access to our good drying facilities and a secure store also help you relax when staying with us.
A flask filling service is available and if you let us know in advance we can provide packed lunches too.
Dinner for individuals or groups can be taken in the restaurant or bar and we can organise special menus for groups to suit all budgets.
